Description
Renergi is the manufacturer of the MERGI Combustion Catalyst. MERGI promotes combustion by reducing the ignition delay in the combustion process. Improvements in this performance lead to a variety of beneficial effects, such as reduced maintenance costs, fuel savings and emission reductions.
Renergi AS is a Norwegian company that has been conducting fuel ignition studies since the 1970s. This has led to the development of the MERGI combustion catalyst. This catalyst improves the quality of fuels so that more energy is released, hydrocarbon residues are reduced and residues are cleaner. It is a non-metallic catalyst.
MERGI Combustion Catalyst reduces the ignition delay of the fuel, thus increasing combustion efficiency. This, in turn, firstly reduces maintenance costs (fewer broken piston rings and less frequent wedging, less wear on rings and cylinder liners, less fouling of turbochargers and catalysts, etc.) and, secondly, reduces fuel consumption. It also allows the use of lower quality fuels and reduces CO, NOx and HC emissions. MERGI improves the combustion of fuels such as heavy fuels, marine diesel, gas oil, petrol, automotive diesel. It can be used in both marine and continental engines, as well as in boilers.
Field and laboratory tests have been carried out at Det norske Veritas, Fueltech, Wroclaw University of Technology, Marintek, Delft University of Technology, New Sulzer Diesel. Renergi also has test data from supply companies. As far as quality control is concerned, the MERGI Combustion Catalyst is continuously tested by the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute.
FACTS:
1.Reduces fuel ignition delay by 8.8% for heavy fuels and 10% for light fuels.
2.Reduces exhaust gas temperatures between 15°C and 40°C.
3.Reduces fuel consumption up to 10%.
4.Reduces CO, HC and Nox emissions by up to 53%, 40% and 11% respectively.
